Quietly inserted in the last sentence ...US diplomat Kelly Craft's official visit to Taiwan has also been called off!
So , the US blinked first. I was expecting the Chinese to either deny the entry of the aircraft carrying the diplomat through an air intercept , or maintain a temporary blockade of Taiwan to show who's the boss. Glad one party de-escalted
