Poll: Two-thirds of US voters say democracy needs to be fixed

Published October 28, 2020 11:43 am

More than two-thirds of U.S. voters say that democracy in the country needs to be fixed, according to a new Hill-HarrisX poll conducted in the lead-up to the November election.

Sixty-nine percent of registered voters in the survey said democracy in the United States needs to be "fixed," while 31 percent said democracy "is working the way it was designed to."

The poll found an overwhelming majority in agreement across all demographics.

Seventy-two percent of Democrats and independents said democracy in the U.S. needs fixing, while 61 percent of Republicans agreed.

The survey comes as tens of millions of voters across the country have already cast their ballots early in the 2020 presidential election.

The poll was conducted online Oct. 19-22 among 943 registered voters. It has a margin of error of 3.19 percentage points.

It will fix itself, as US institution are more stronger .. only thing that concerns me is that America has so many nutjobs with tons of guns and willing to use them on their fellow citizens and immigrants based on any conspiracy theory they read online ..

Since when does 943 people represent 2/3rd of US voters?

. .
Plus since many people have to use mail-in ballots to vote (due to Covid) of course they are going to complain things need to be fixed.

.
It needs to be centralized and the US needs to start taking notes from social democracies in europe

.
To be fixed to become what?

And which ones needs to be fixed?

.
You can't poll the whole US population.

Which is why the article title should read 2/3 rd of 943 polled believe democracy needs fixing.. and not 2/3 of US voters.
