QUETTA - Barkhan police on Sunday detected a private prison during a raid at the residence of JUI-F MPA Sardar Abdur Rehman Kethran and freed eight prisoners, including two women.

Barkhan Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Imran Yaqoob made this disclosure while addressing a news conference on Sunday night:

“A team of Anti-Terrorism Force (ATF), Quetta police, and DPO Barkhan conducted a raid at the residence of Sardar Abdur Rehman and he surrendered to the police,” he said.

Narrating the incident, the DIG police said Sardar Abdur Rehman and his people had kidnapped five police personnel and subjected them to torture.

“They were released after snatching official weapons from them,” he said, adding he brought the incident to the knowledge of the provincial government and sought permission to take action.

The police have registered an FIR against Sardar Abdur Rehman Kethran, his son and other 10 people under sections 365, 342, 395, 504, 353, 187 and 337.

“The police will register a separate case about having a private prison and detaining eight people,” he said.

He produced the people, imprisoned by Sardar Abdur Rehman Kethran, before media people and said the matter was being investigated. He pointed out the police conducted the raid, but Sardar Rehman surrendered and offered no resistance.

JUI-F especially Fazlu have close relations with Talibans, they should be asked to explain their relations with banned militant groups.

this is our darker side which will be "missed" out by Ahmed Rashid and Mr Shathi in their usual rant against Pakistan. some people talk about balochistan independence but their analysis and reasoning is pathetic.. they are talking about building a wall around the herd with wolves still inside.

Baloch chieftains like him in the past switched to the Baloch Samachar and cried about the "injustice" they faced at the hands of FC and police. its either private jails and abductions while in government or blowing up Baloch infrastructure, abductions and killings while in the mountains.

And who will ask these question PMLN whose Law minister was out asking for votes with ASWJ and LJ or MQM or PPP .
