ISLAMABAD - Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry(ICC) has welcomed the visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to China, saying it will open new vistas of opportunities in trade and investment sectors and benefit Pakistan and its people.
Talking to APP on Thursday, ICCI President Zafar Bakhtawari said the visit would help restore confidence of business community in the government's economic policies, adding that PM's visit would have positive impact for economic development of the two countries.
He said the visit would also help build development economic corridors in the Asian region while earlier the entire focus was on the bussiness with the West.
Bakhtawari hoped the volume of bilateral trade of $US 12 billion would increase manifold and benefit the business and the people of the two countries.
He said that China was a time-tested and deep rooted friend of Pakistan and the visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would further strengthen the existing economic and bilateral relations between the two friendly countries.
The ICCI president further said that Chinese leadership's commitment towards Pakistan's energy crisis would also put a positive impact in resolving the problems being faced by the country.
He praised the signing of various MoUs especially on establishment of railway links from Gawadar to China and added it would help boost trade and economic activities between the two countries.
He said that being a neighbour and having Chinese control on Gwadar Port, Pakistan will also avail lot of benefits of fast progress in China.
