Lahore: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of the Punjab Wednesday approved three development schemes worth Rs 1,478.01 million of two sectors, regional planning and agriculture.

According to a spokesperson, the schemes were approved in the 43rd meeting of the PDWP of fiscal year 2019-20 with Chairman P&D Board Hamed Yaqoob Sheikh in the chair.

All members of the Planning & Development Board, provincial secretaries of departments concerned, Senior Chief (Coordination) Javed Latif, Assistant Chief Coordination Shahid Idrees and representatives of the relevant departments also attended the meeting.

The approved schemes included restructuring of Directorate General Monitoring & Evaluation at the cost of Rs 686.105 million, while Punjab capacity building programme (Capacity Development for Service Delivery Programme) was approved at the cost of Rs 449.130 million, and mechanised management of rice crop residue at the cost of Rs 342.775 million.

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday approved 24 schemes at an estimated cost of Rs19.11 billion.

Additional Chief Secretary Shakil Qadir Khan presided over the 15th PDWP meeting, which deliberated and approved schemes pertaining to different sectors including health, education, multi-sector development, roads, agriculture, water, urban development, revenue, and tourism & sports.

The approved projects included construction and feasibility of different roads in Abbottabad, Buner, Haripur, Swabi, Hangu and Mansehra worth Rs1.59 billion; upgradation of existing nine nursing schools in Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, DI Khan, Mardan, Swat and Abbottabad; expansion of Khyber Girls Medical College in Peshawar to accommodate additional 50 students of merged areas; and water supply schemes in Upper Dir at a cost of Rs152.25 million.

Under the FATA Infrastructure Project (FIP), the PDWP okayed the reconstruction of 11 fully damaged schools in District Bajaur at a cost of Rs338.044 million and reconstruction of 27 fully damaged schools in District Mohmand at a cost of Rs831.461 million.

Other approved projects included ‘Purchase of Land for Agriculture University in Swat’, Feasibility Study of Command Area Development of Small Dams, Hockey Turf in Nowshehra and Abbotabad, Upgradation of sports complex at Mohmand & Bajaur and Establishment of Resource Center & E-Stamp Introduction in Board of Revenue in Newly Merged Districts.

Punjab PDWP okays Rs11.24bn for eight health projects

LAHORE: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP)-Punjab has approved eight development schemes related to the primary & secondary healthcare sector at an estimated cost of Rs11,241.21 million.
These schemes were approved in the 23rd meeting of PDWP of the current fiscal year (2020-21) presided over by Planning & Development Board Chairman Abdullah Khan Sunbal, a statement issued on Monday read.

P&D Provincial Secretary Imran Sikandar Baloch, all members of the Planning & Development Board, provincial secretaries of concerned departments, Senior Chief (Coord) Javed Latif, Assistant Chief Coordination Shahid Idrees and other senior representatives of the relevant provincial departments also attended the meeting.

The approved development schemes included ‘up-gradation of 20-bedded RHC in Uch Sharif into 60-bedded THQ-level hospital’ at a cost of Rs537.7 million; ‘up-gradation of 40-bedded THQ hospital in Minchanabad to 100-bedded hospital’ at Rs373.011 million; ‘construction of 20-bedded Trauma Centre & Revamping of THQ hospital in Pattoki’ at Rs278.882 million; ‘construction of 20-bedded surgical ward at THQ Chunian’ at Rs130.304 million; ‘construction of 10-bedded emergency ward at THQ hospital in Lalamusa’ at Rs71.976 million; ‘up-gradation of 70-bedded THQ hospital in Kharian to 100-bedded hospital’ at Rs209.359 million; ‘provision of missing facilities at THQ hospital Naushera’ at Rs250 million; and ‘establishment of 400-bedded new DHQ hospital in Hafizabad’ at Rs9,389.978 million.
