JP Dutta returns to direction after 12 years with Paltan.
The trailer of the upcoming Bollywood war drama film Paltan was released on Thursday. The film stars Arjun Rampal, Jackie Shroff, Sonu Sood, Gurmeet Choudhary and more as Indian Army soldiers, protecting the borders from incoming Chinese forces.

The trailer begins with stock war footage and helps us revise how India lost the war of 1962 against China. Five years later, a small group of Indian soldiers are at loggerheads with the Chinese forces at the border of Sikkim, fighting to ward them away.

A misplaced apostrophe.

Sonu Sood lets the fake rain and blue tint wash over him.
There is a lot of needless screaming, stone pelting and gun fire in the trailer. Cowardly women (as usual) tell their brave husbands to not go to war and Chinese soldiers that speak the most fluent Hindi. There are also grammatical errors, fake rain and scenes shot in daytime and passed off as ‘night shots’ with a blue tint.

Watch it here:

Paltan is based on the 1967 Nathu La military clash that took place along the Sikkim border. With Paltan, JP Dutta returns to direction after a 12-year long gap. The national-award-winning director had earlier treated the audience with war films like Border, LOC Kargil, and Refugee.

Presented by Zee Studios and produced by JP Dutta Films, the flick is slated to hit the silver screen on September 7.

"From the makers of Border"

Expect the truth to be absent in this one.

In fact, it is about India’s victory against China in the Nathu La and Cho La military clash. The clash took place in Sikkim border in the year 1967.

Well, according to history, the Indian Posts at Nathu La were under attack on September 11, 1967. The Indian military forces came to the rescue then and were successful in driving away the PLA army from the location. Similarly, yet another instance happened at Cho La on October 1, in the same year. The Nathu La clash lasted for four years, from what we hear.

Speaking on the same, JP Dutta stated that the even though the Chinese started the war in 1962, we ended it in 1967 with our victory. Hence he considers it as an integral part of our history.

A couple of minor border clashes are an apparent victory. By the way there are no neutral accounts of this victory.

bollywood shamelessly feed the lies to indian public and they digest it for life time

Bollywood is learning from Hollywood in area of propaganda.

it doesnt change the facts..

The PLA gave them a thumping bloody nose...and indian retaliated by tickling them with cotton buds...

to be fair the Indian army is unimpressive

> 1962> a complete rout by the chinese
> 1965 Ran Kutch> very poor performance
> 1965 > full scale war again performed poorly on most battlefields except a few
> 1984 > quickly checked by Pak Army in Siachen
> 1999 > straight jacket and unimaginative tactics produced high casualties and after 11 week could only manage a few non critical gains....only US pressure saved face.
> recently performance in Mumbai and Uri attacks was just plain embarrassing
