Textile output will continue to drop because we are chasing all foreign investment away. Pakistan is viewed as unstable and corrupt to western business. Energy is another major factor when companies need things done urgently. When Walt Disney ceased operations in Pakistan they said:
"After much thought and discussion, we felt this was the most responsible way to manage the challenges associated with our supply chain," said Bob Chapek, president of Disney Consumer Products in a statement.
There are too many challenges in the supply chain of Pakistan textiles.
Kanati Clothing Company co-founder Liam Massaubi released statement saying:
"As an organization that serves clients globally, we just can't afford the disruption and down time in Pakistan. Our clients depend on a fast and reliable service. We can no longer wait and hope for improvements in Pakistan"
There is many challenges that face our textile industry because of corruption, lack of infrastructure and our inability to compete globally with costs.
Why would a company invest in Pakistan when they can get faster production elsewhere for a better cost and not have to worry about protection from Pakistan authorities?
It is very sad it is ground level worker who are to suffer.
