Pakistan's president directs treatment of poor boy

ISLAMABAD, Jan 24 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari Saturday directed that the 10‑year old child Habibullah suffering from blocked arteries be treated at the expenses of the Presidency. The President gave the order in response to the appeal by father of the ailing child to the government and philanthropists to help him in the treatment of his son.

The father of the boy, a poor labourer, a resident of Charsadda Road Peshawar had said that he cannot afford the expenses on the treatment of his son and needed assistance.

Habibullah suffering from cardiac problem has been diagnosed as having two heart vessels blocked.

On Thursday the poor labourer had appealed through newspaper to the President, Prime Minister, Chief Minister NWFP and Philanthropists for help.

Following the Presidential directive the Frontier Chief Secretary was advised today to arrange treatment of the boy immediately and send the bill to the Presidency for payment.

Very good news, it is good to hear a humane and kind story now and then. Inshallah the boy will recover and become healthy asap...Zardari really did something kind here and to his credit good job.
