Pakistan to develop sea transportation with Oman for trade

ISLAMABAD, March 2 (KUNA) -- Pakistan on Tuesday stressed the need to develop sea-transportation between Islamabad and Oman to enhance bilateral trade through the Gawada sea port.

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani talking to a a three-member delegation from Oman led by Mohammed Nasser Al-Khasibi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy, said that there were tremendous opportunities of enhancing trade between Pakistan and Oman through maritime transportation and it would also promote tourism and cultural links.

The Prime Minister, according to an official press release, hoped that the delegation, currently in Pakistan to attend the 6th Joint Ministerial Commission, would contribute towards this objective.

Mohammed Nasser, Secretary General of Ministry of Economy said "Oman greatly values the brotherly relationship with Pakistan and desires to work more closely at every level".

He assured more support and assistance for the reconstruction of militancy affected areas. The success of Pakistan-Oman Joint Investment Company, he added, has encouraged Omani business community for additional investment in Pakistan.
