Pakistan set to issue Bhutto coin

Pakistan is to issue a commemorative coin to mark the first anniversary of the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.

The State Bank of Pakistan will issue about 300,000 special 10-rupee (16 US cents) coins.

The coin will read in Urdu, "Daughter of the East, Benazir Bhutto".

Ms Bhutto was killed in a suicide bomb and gun attack in Rawalpindi on 27 December last year after an election rally for her Pakistan People's Party.

The coin will be issued on 27 December, the bank announced.

Ms Bhutto has already had Islamabad's international airport named after her, along with a hospital in Rawalpindi and a key road.

Her husband, Asif Ali Zardari, became co-chairman of the Pakistan People's Party, which won February's elections. He took over as Pakistan's president in September.

I think a bhutto coin would have been better then a benazir bhutto coin.
Maybe you could have father and daughter on the same coin..?

Bhutto international would be better then benazir bhutto international.

Benazir coin seems like a joke. But since they're SO keen on giving her this honour, they should seriously follow your advice about the father and daughter memorial coin.

Btw, we should've given the same honour to Dr. A.Q Khan. No matter what the international view remains, he was and STILL is a hero for the Pakistani people. Just take a trip on Motorway LHR-RWP and try counting the infinite amount of Trucks with his picture glorified on the back.
