Pakistan's BAT attack in J&K: 2 Indian soldiers martyred, one attacker killedNEW DELHI: The director general (DG) of Border Security Force (BSF), who retires on Sunday, claimed that Pakistan has become more aggressive at the border with India since Imran Khan-led government came to power there.

Interacting with reporters, Sharma also confirmed that the kidnapping and killing of BSF head constable + Narendra Singh on September 18 by Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT) was the first ever such attack on the International Border (IB).

"Before that, the BAT usually targeted soldiers on the Line of Control (LoC) but this (Narendra Singh's killing) shows nothing has changed on the border. Pakistan is more aggressive now," said Sharma.

The outgoing chief of the world's largest border guarding force said that BSF is waiting for opportune time to strike back at Pakistan to "avenge" the killing of their jawan.

Asserting that there is a surge in ceasefire violation, firing on Indian villages and infiltration attempts on the Indo-Pak border, Sharma said there are many terrorists' training camps and launching pads on the Pakistan side of border, both on IB and LoC, in which hundreds of terrorists are waiting to cross over. Some of the terror camps are located 5-7 kms across the border while some are deeper inside the Pakistan territory.

"It's Pakistan's state policy to push terrorists in India. It was former Pakistan President Zia-ul-Haq's doctrine to make India bleed by thousand cuts and that's what Pakistan engages in," said Sharma.

Giving details of the Pakistan BAT action on the International Border in Jammu on September 18, Sharma said that HC Narendra Singh was shot thrice in the chest, his body was dragged to Pakistan side of the border and later his throat was slit.

A BSF team had gone near the fence to clear the elephant grass which is often used by terrorists to hide and infiltrate into Indian territory.

"They faced firing from Pakistan to which they responded. While returning, they realised that one of the team members was left behind. They went back looking for Narendra Singh but found only his helmet and cap. We repeatedly contacted Pakistan Rangers, but they didn't respond. When we were finally allowed to go towards the Pakistan side to look for our man, we found his body with his throat slit and three bullets in the chest," Sharma said.

The killing of the BSF jawan was clearly pre-planned, according to Sharma, as Pakistan had evacuated the border villages on its side before the incident fearing BSF action.

He added that the force is prepared to give a befitting reply to Pakistan if such things happen in the future. "We have taken enough action against Pakistan and we will do it again, both on LoC and IB. We are preparing our men for BAT action on IB as well now," he added.

Pakistan has reportedly cleared its villages 5 kms on its side fearing a "surgical strike", Sharma asserted.

Sharma headed the force for two years and seven months since February 2016. India and Pakistan have had worst relations since 2016, particularly after Pakistan engaged in unprovoked firing/shelling at the border and pushed terrorists into India following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani. Indian government recently cancelled foreign minister level talks with Pakistan following repeated terror attacks.

Talking about the border with Bangladesh, Sharma said the Rohingya influx problem has been contained by BSF.

Asked whether BSF has ever seen any Chinese army personnel along with Pakistan army on the International Border, Sharma replied in negative.

"Opportune time"? Is India a loomri.

Can't believe the entire buzzdil Indian military is openly declaring to keep their tail between their legs until someone comes to save them.

Indian media and politicians insist that the Pakistan army is in control, and that the democratically elected civilian government has no say in defence or foreign affairs.

Yet here they are implying that Pakistan has become more aggressive since Imran became PM. Does that mean that, God forbid, a civilian government is calling the shots?

There's a plot hole in their story.

Peaceful bhartis your threats are becoming a bad joke by now. You can't intimidate us no matter how hard you try,Go stick to bullying puny indian muslims to vent your frustration.
And, BD!!! Keeping mammals like cow, apes, leopards etc. for themselves while giving names like “termites” for BD folks...

its not IB where surgical strike was done.
Its working boundary, very much LOC for us.
