The Pakistan Cricket Board are advertising for a new head coach, listing Microsoft Office as a key skill for applicants.

The board have also invited applications for batting and fielding specialists.

Dav Whatmore’s tenure in charge of the national side ended with an unlikely Test victory over his native Sri Lanka on Monday, with fielding coach Julian Fountain also departing after the 1-1 series draw.

Pakistan have been operating without a dedicated batting coach but have also advertised for that position, with a deadline on all three posts of February 6.

Senior players are thought to favour homegrown appointees, though the decisions will be made by a specially appointed committee comprising Pakistan Cricket Board chief operating officer Subhan Ahmed alongside Wasim Akram, Javed Miandad and Intikhab Alam.

On the hunt: The Pakistan Cricket Board are advertising for a new head coach to replace Dav Whatmore

The official advert calls for candidates with knowledge of Microsoft Office, though the need for 'problem solving skills' and 'ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals from varied backgrounds' are perhaps more pertinent to challenges facing Pakistan’s new coaching team.
