KARACHI: The Made in Pakistan Expo 2012, which is the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry’s (FPCCI) flagship event in the Maharashtra state in India, and the largest one country exhibition of its nature ever to be held by Pakistan in Mumbai, is continuing to draw in crowds on its consecutive eighth day in running.

The organisers announced the exhibition, currently underway at the World Trade Centre, Mumbai since August 31, 2012, has now being extended until Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the same venue on popular demand.

The event is showcasing the finest products Pakistan has to offer to the Indian market. Some fresh stocks arrived late during the week, which are now available for display and sale for three more days. A large variety of textiles and readymade garments (both ladies and gents wear) are on display, which customers may select from.

Besides textile products, sellers are representing spices, onyx handicrafts and melamine crockery in the exhibition.

So far, the event has been a resounding success and has drawn in crowds from all over the city, including the suburbs, in spite of the inclement weather over the past one-week in Mumbai. Visitors have applauded the rich quality of Pakistani textiles, the vibrant colour palette and the excellent value for money offered by the exhibitors.

At the same time, exhibitors have also expressed satisfaction over the response they have received from Mumbai’s public, which has welcomed the Pakistani textiles with great enthusiasm.

Stall owners have lauded FPCCI’s initiative to hold a solo exhibition in Mumbai, thereby launching Pakistani products in Maharashtra in a big way and also the organizers’ efforts to extend the exhibition by three days, thereby allowing them an opportunity to reach a larger target market.

FPCCI’s counterpart body in India, FICCI and the related government departments of India extended a great helping hand in the organisation of this historical event.
