Pakistan earned $1.572m from leather products in 2011-12

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan earned $1.572 million during the 2011-12 by exporting different leather products, State Minister for Commerce Abbas Khan Afridi informed the Lower House of Parliament on Friday.


Relying to a question, the minister informed the amount was earned by exporting products such as leather, raw hides and skins, leather footwear, leather manufactures (excluding leather footwear), leather gloves, apparel and clothing and other leather manufactures.

Giving the details, he said $445,799 were earned by exporting leather, $421 by raw hides and skins, $80,093 by leather footwear, $522,841 by leather manufactures, $165,942 by leather gloves, $341,001 by apparel and clothing and $15,897 were earned by exporting other leather manufactures.

Something is severely wrong with this figure or Pakistani Leather goods are being sold for pennies because Leather Products are sold very high rates world wide specially `real Leather goods`

This is easily a 2-5 Billion dollar Industry , the fact we only got paid few millions shows of incompetence of uneducated people running show in Pakistan pathetic :whistle:
 
I guess this figure is for stuff that says Made In Pakistan. Don't know about leather, but usually we export Agricultural products often written under Bangladeshi or Indian names.
 
PPP Government is desperate to make false claims and present bogus data to public to get some appreciation. If you hear that amount was actually 11.572 Billions, believe that it was meant to read that much. GOD! When will we get rid of these people!
