Pakistan does not want to engage in war with any country, DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor said on Tuesday.

Addressing the media, the head of military’s media wing said, Pakistan is not involved in stoking terrorism in Afghanistan.

The DG ISPR, however, warned India against mistaking “our desire for peace as weakness”. “India is working on a plan and that’s why it staged a drama of surgical strike. Armed forces and the people are ready to respond to any misadventure by India.”

“Over 70,000 Pakistanis have sacrificed their lives since the launch of war against terror in Pakistan. We will continue to render sacrifices until the country is put on the desired level of progress,” head of military’s media wing, Major General Asif Ghafoor said while addressing a press conference in General Headquarters of the Pakistan Army.

Delving into the details of the anti-terror efforts, the DG ISPR said around 26,000 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) and combing operations have been conducted by the armed forces since the launch of war against terror. “Over 3,000 IBOs were conducted in Balochistan,” he said.

Maj-Gen Ghafoor said as a result of the effective campaign against terrorism launched by the Army in 2008-9, far-flung areas of the country including tribal areas have witnessed an improvement in the law and order situation. “At least 84 per cent of temporarily displaced persons from these areas have safely been repatriated,” he said.

Regarding house arrest of Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed, Maj-Gen Ghafoor said it was a policy decision taken in the national interest. “Situation will become clearer in the days to come,” he said.

Responding to a question on Afghanistan, the head of ISPR said Pakistan was not involved in terrorist incidents inside Afghanistan and would not allow its soil to be sued for such acts.

While several terrorists were killed in military operation Zarb-e-Azb, many fled to Afghanistan due to weak border system. However, new posts and border mechanism have been built along the Afghan border to check illegal crossing. “The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leadership has also found refuge in Afghanistan.”

Ghafoor went on to say that it is Pakistan’s desire that Afghanistan experiences better law and order, helping the refugees in Pakistan return to their homeland. “Armed forces are also working to break the nexus between Indian spy agency RAW and Afghanistan’s NDS in Balochistan.”

When asked about the case of missing bloggers, he said Pakistan Army has nothing to do with the disappearances of the bloggers.

“We do not think that the interior minister’s statement that he would talk to intelligence agencies to recover the missing bloggers, or saying that it’s not the state’s policy, was to implicate someone,” Maj-Gen Ghafoor said.

“A state has tools and instruments which it uses to implement a certain decision and we don’t think that the interior minister accused anyone [of involvement in disappearances].”

Armed forces and intelligence agencies are also part of the state and the bloggers were recovered as a result of the state’s efforts, the DG ISPR added.

But the problem is that people do take this as a sign of weakness which force Pakistan to do missile tests like Babur or Ababeel...

It is fair to say Pakistan doesn't desire a war per say. Pakistan has Kashmir dispute and now India is adding water dispute to the equation - which Pakistan want resolved amicably.

This is what happens to every country which forms a partnership with USA: Chaos , murder and mayhem. USA exchanges money and arms for strategic degeneration of the sponsored corrupted state. Look at history in every country USA has been involved with and their other puppet zionist controlled regimes such as UK and France.

To DG ISPR:
Please sacrifice your own kids...we as a nation have no interest in dying at the hands of terrorist..the blood of 70 thousand Pakistanis is at the hands of its government, leaders and military commanders yet I see no one being bought to accountability...!

And the big question?? what have been done about it ?? Did we take action against Afghan govt? did we table a resolution in UN?? did we demand their extradition??

A war between the 2 countries would hurt India more as we have infrastructural development going at a rapid pace and any damage to that or halt in the progress could result in us going back by decades.

But that is something we have to be ready for as peace is not something India can negotiate. The Congress government is not in power anymore that let terror and peace talks go hand in hand, this is something Pakistani establishment have understood well and India's aggressive stance will do well to deter Pakistan from fancying any thoughts about attacking.

Being a responsible country, we do not want war with anyone including India but, when push come to shove, the same peace desire must not be taken as weakness. Such press briefing from ISPR was needed and our Foreign Diplomacy should also present the same view before the world on different forums due to continuous war campaign by India. It is told that we are not preparing to attack but on other side, the response wouldn't be soft as well. It is a proof that if the day of Indian Misadventure comes, world will know what we thought but then we would be at liberty to defend our selves by any-means available to us.

India is continuously threatening Pakistan for attacks and war every other day that any political member speaks to people and even recently her Chief as well that NaMO is seeking an opportunity to wage war only to satisfy the masses and as a proof of extreme mindset towards others. NaMO failed miserably through diplomacy in account of BJPs policy towards Pakistan, failure in IoK and other neighbors hence, the growing desire of war to cover own failures that such incompetency will push this region to a disaster. NaMO failed to address the Kashmir issue rather opted the option of force which is contrary to the facts in IoK and solution that invited more resistance though, Kashmir issue went active and again become the topic on many forums that current GoI is trying to divert such attention through these threats and labeling the same as so-called terrorism. The only solution for such issues is, talks but having no competence in this regard, one is pushing towards war and skirmish so that the negligence be covered and NaMO's such stance is a clear threat to the peace of whole region as well.

"In the last four months alone, there have been 314 violations, due to which 46 Pakistan citizens and 40 Indian soldiers have been killed," Ghafoor said.

When asked how the army was aware of Indian casualties, he said that although India doesn't often reveal their army's casualties, "the communication intercepts we receive tell us how many casualties took place on their side."

In some sense . Its true , we do not want any war , right now !!!!!!!!!!!! We need 15years without war. We need to have a policy of cleaning our home first !!!!!!! and controlling Afghanistan(cleaning terrorist which work against Pakistan).

With all of above we have to build and upgrade our Armed Forces !!!!!!! More Tanks , IFVs, AFVs, APCs, SPGs, SAMs, More and well trained Men.

Or genocide of Muslims in India as Fascist Hindu's hatred for Pakistan is the deep rooted hatred for Muslims. If India doesn't wage war, the rapid Hindu public radicalisation and frustration added to this deep rooted hatred may just take an ugly turn inwards to genocide. Writing is on the wall that Hindu wants to rid his land of non-hindus or make them subservient.

Muslim Genocide in India will lead to war.

Bs and hypocrisy. When your students are attacked by terrorist you send fighter jets to attack them but when your terrorist attack us we should be twiddling our thumbs.

India reveals every cauaity. Giving our martyrs a heros burial is more important than managing the perceptions of Pak Army/ politicians.
