A convoy comprising of 7 military trucks, loaded with relief goods, moved from Engineers Center, On 27th May. In village Kota, terrorists placed explosive device enroute. As a result one truck and one single cabin were destroyed. Immediately after the explosion, the group of terrorist hiding inside the thick forest stared intense fire. Pak Army soldiers responded immediately and after 1 hour of fierce gun battle, the Army soldiers successfully managed to move the convoy to safety and their destination. During this deadly incident 4 soldiers of Pakistan Army, embraced shahadat. The Party managed to move the convoy of food items to Mingora and distributed food to the needy. Without any doubt, this act of barbarity, leads to prove that such senseless people are not only enemies of Islam but enemies of the entire humanity. Soldiers displayed courage, dedication, high sense of duty and responsibilities. People of Mingora were delighted to receive relief.

The soldiers have always displayed bravery - however; the command continues to display a disregard for the lives of the soldiers - these supplies could not be helicoptered over? could not be dropped by para? Soldiers lives are cheap.

For the same reasons as we cant feed everyone in this country, for the reason that we are not giving money to IDPs and they have to sell their relief stuff, for the same reason that india has to spend 6~7 times what Pakistan spends in Siachen, though indian strength is thrice the Pakistani side, for the same reason that we couldnt evacuate all during tghe 2005 earth quack, for the same reason that we couldn't provide releif to everyone with helis during the Balochistan EQ, for the same reason the US has to rely on Pakistan to keep its forces supplied in Afghanistan (while risking the entire logistics to travel 1000s of km through Pakistan). i wonder why dont they feed their men via the air despite having trillions?

And to be fair even the mighty united states can't supply its forces just from the air either.

Again, erroneous argument - tomorrow Americans will eat sh..it, will you argue that we ought to have done so as well? Please present clearly thought out positions

Sir, Soldiering is dangerous business, but that does not mean that commanders be reckless or not seek every possible means to ensure that casualties are not suffered by their units.

Claiming that we can take casualties while others are reluctant to does not make the Fauj are more effective unit, rather it makes it a more callous and ineffective unit.

Erroneous? sorry but its a ground reality a superpower with billions cannot afford to ship supplies through the air and you talk about the PA doing so?....It frankly shows how little you know of logistics. I suggest you get a workable plan and show us all how it works because right now you are just making emotional statements without logic. It takes a LARGE amount of supplies to be effective and the ground is still the best way of getting them in.

Thanks you for letting me know how dangerous soldiering is...It occurred to me when bullets were being shot at me... this type of attack is still the major cause of casualties amongst well trained and equipped soldiers of NATO. And it is very hard to counter so the Sad truth is that there willalways be this risk regardless.
