Pakistan and Poland to set up joint economic commission

ISLAMABAD: Poland and Pakistan have agreed to establish a joint economic commission and signing memorandum of understanding for co-operation in the field of energy and mineral resources.
The agreement was reached during a visit by a Pakistani delegation headed by Chairman Senate Syed Nayyer Bokhari of Pakistan.
Both sides showed satisfaction at the current level of trade and expressed hopes that such initiatives trade will be enhanced to its full potential.
The Pakistani delegation was greeted at the Polish Parliament by Marshal of the Senate Bogdan Borusewicz.
The senate chairman was welcomed at a session of the Polish Senate, after which he jointly inaugurated the Poland-Pakistan Lasting Friendship exhibition with his Polish counterpart.
Bokhari also thanked the Polish government for the support extended to Pakistan on Autonomous Trade Preferences.
Bokhari also met the Polish Deputy Prime Minister along with several high ranking officials. Attending a lunch hosted by the Polish-Pakistan Parliamentary Group, which has recently been formed comprising members of the Polish Senate and Sejm (Lower House), the chairman thanked his Polish hosts for the hospitality extended to him and his delegation and expressed the hope that his visit will further promote the cordial relations between the two countries.
