Evryone who wants can help me for a little experiment / project here.

I have a small job at fitness and health academy here so i can be booked at weekend to give lessons how stay fit and healthy.

Most of our customers are offices who want me to give their employee lesosns about how they can make their back and shoulders stronger to avoid backpain.

One of my lecture points is about how pain works, and how it can be shut down. I would like to make a little presentation with them. I tried with friends and it worked so if one wants to participate...please do so.

All you need is a clothespin:

Now let me explain, put the clothespin at one of your ears. Put it where it is really uncomfortable and hurts. Its a little bit different with evryone. For me its at the side of my ear. And yes it must hurt constantly. Dont be a pussy. Its for science. Dont remove it for entire time of experiment.

Now sit down 5-10 seconds like that and think about that pain. Describe how it hurts? Is it more burning, ripping, stabbing pain? Does it move?

On a scale from 1 (doesnt hurt at all) and 10 (argh god dammit) how would you classify it?

Now move on, open this music video, its some nice club music:

Stand up, close your eyes and dance to the music. Let the rhythm flow through you. Do this for 30 - 40 seconds...

open your eyes and the check again how much pain you feel now at a scale from 1 - 10?

Thats it!

Write down your experience here. Better do it when alone so nobody calls the crazy doc ;)

I think about adding this demonstrations in my lessons and all i tried this with said its very impressive because it gives you a new view on how your body works.

Ha, good thread. I'll conduct the experiment and report my findings.

. .
Sadists, suicidal tendencies plus sociopath feelings what I smell from this thread.

I have a poem just let me know the poet killed the girl or just let her to live or just pure imagination.
Poet / writer carved this poem on a desk and people / police call it The riverside poem
Sick of living/unwilling to die

cut.
clean.
if red /
clean.
blood spurting,
dripping,
spilling;
all over her new
dress
oh well
it was red
anyway.
life draining into an
uncertain death.
she won't
die.
this time
someone ll find her.
just wait till
next time.

Another thing that lessens the pain is taking heavy breaths. For best results, stick out your tongue. If it works for you then you can demonstrate it to you trainees

yo have to divert your mind away from the pain by thinking about other things like happy things, or talk to someone abut something but not the pain.

I used to do this kind of stuff as a kid just for fun to feel how "controlled" pain felt like. Guess I am a bit of a masochist.

Tbh I get a throbbing pain, but I dont get any nasty pain spikes.

I would say the pain for me (given I have been somewhat desensitized to pain*) is around 5 before and about 3-4 after the music/dance thing....it does spike a bit when i remove the clothes peg to about 7 or so for a few seconds and a numb pain of about 1 -2 persists for some minutes.

*had liquid nitrogen treatment as a 12 - 13 yr old kid for removing some foot warts with no anaesthetic or pain killer. That pain was something quite different to anything I've felt so regular pain doesn't feel too bad to me anymore.

yes. its amazing how we can influence it. In many cases pain has zero real roots but is simply formed in the mind.

psychology is important factor. For example i showed them how to meassure their pulse, then do a short relaxation task like breathing in and out and in most causes pulse goes down by 20%

.
Interesting experiment...although I have kids so I'd probably just laugh at this level of pain. When my dentist, Dr. Szell, says "does this hurt" (or more like "is it safe") I just say "I think I'm immune"

OP's greatest pain is that he wants to make a real life scenario of 120 days of sodom with colored heathens but he can't
