Evryone who wants can help me for a little experiment / project here.
I have a small job at fitness and health academy here so i can be booked at weekend to give lessons how stay fit and healthy.
Most of our customers are offices who want me to give their employee lesosns about how they can make their back and shoulders stronger to avoid backpain.
One of my lecture points is about how pain works, and how it can be shut down. I would like to make a little presentation with them. I tried with friends and it worked so if one wants to participate...please do so.
All you need is a clothespin:
Now let me explain, put the clothespin at one of your ears. Put it where it is really uncomfortable and hurts. Its a little bit different with evryone. For me its at the side of my ear. And yes it must hurt constantly. Dont be a pussy. Its for science. Dont remove it for entire time of experiment.
Now sit down 5-10 seconds like that and think about that pain. Describe how it hurts? Is it more burning, ripping, stabbing pain? Does it move?
On a scale from 1 (doesnt hurt at all) and 10 (argh god dammit) how would you classify it?
Now move on, open this music video, its some nice club music:
Stand up, close your eyes and dance to the music. Let the rhythm flow through you. Do this for 30 - 40 seconds...
open your eyes and the check again how much pain you feel now at a scale from 1 - 10?
Thats it!
Write down your experience here. Better do it when alone so nobody calls the crazy doc
I think about adding this demonstrations in my lessons and all i tried this with said its very impressive because it gives you a new view on how your body works.
