Pakistan Air Force is revered as a combat-efficient force and has effectively preserved the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Pakistan.

These views were expressed by the air chief while addressing the passing out parade of aero apprentices at PAF Base, Korangi Creek. Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, was the chief guest at the occasion.

Addressing the Aero Apprentices, the Air Chief further said,” our history is replete with examples where we in Pakistan Air Force have proved ourselves second to none and made our nation proud of our courage, bravery and professionalism. Pakistan Air Force is in the process of acquiring more capable aircraft, modern radars, new weapons and state of the art equipment. It will be your responsibility to maintain the new capabilities in the highest state of preparedness. The nation has placed its trust in you and expects you to shoulder the new responsibilities with confidence, dedication and professional excellence. I am sure; you will go into field with complete commitments and empowerment to take the PAF’s operational readiness to newer heights”.

Aero Apprentices including personnel from Pakistan Navy successfully completed their technical training. Asghar Khan Trophy for the Best in Aeronautics Technology was awarded to Air Weapon Technician-ll Shahid Zafar; Noor Khan Trophy for the Best in Avionics Technology was awarded to Aircraftman Zaman Sarwar; Trophy for the Best in General Service Training was awarded to Aircraftman Wing Seargent Muhammad Sauood; and Chief of the Air Staff Trophy for the Overall Best Performance was awarded to Aircraftman Ikram Ullah.

Earlier Group Captain Asim Hafeez Officer Commanding Training Wing PAF Base, Korangi Creek presented the course report. Felicitating the Aero Apprentices for this singular honour, the Chief Guest wished them bright future and success in their future assignments.

PAF has reverted to its older plan of 150 JF-17s instead of 300+ JF-17s. So there would be only 150 JF-17s with 59 F-16s Block-15 + 18 F-16s Block-52 in 2020.
