WEstern Europe is stable and will remain so. WW2 was the great catharsis. It's Eastern Europe that could end up in conflict.

Don't be so sure. Given Brexit and a stubborn Italy we can already see cracks that can potentially turn into chasms.

On top of that Macron and Merkel's intense calls for a continental European force....these are things that might make certain countries in the EU very uneasy.
