DONALD Trump is bringing his crack kill team with him for protection as he arrives in the UK today.

The elite squad dubbed “Hawkeye” accompany the president wherever he goes and will be on guard during his state visit to Britain.

Hawkeye was brought into being following the failed assassination attempt against Ronald Reagan in 1981.

The sole function of the Secret Service Counter-Assault Team (CAT) is to protect the president.

Each unit is given a designation matching the President’s call-sign – so for The Donald’s squad their full name is “Hawkeye Mogul”.

Agents are equipped with an SR-16 rifle, a pistol and stun grenades, and are specially trained to counter ambushes and fight in close quarters.

The unit is not believed to have ever needed to respond to a security threat, but remains on constant alert.

Agents are trained in an eight-month course with only ten per cent of prospective candidates making it through.

All agents are expected to complete a 1.5 mile run in less than nine minutes and complete three pull-ups wearing a 20kg weighted vest.

Other demanding training tasks include repeatedly swinging a 50lbs kettle bell then immediately shooting at a target.

The Hawkeye team works in partnership with the president's personal security detail.

As one set of agents would work to get the president out of danger the Hawkeye CAT team is there to provide cover in case they become embroiled in a firefight.

Police and security units have been preparing for Trump's visit by enforcing strict privacy features for the US president's safety.

ELITE AGENTS
Up to 10,000 UK police officers will be drafted into London as part of a £25million security operation during the state visit.

The Metropolitan Police said it had "a very experienced command team" leading the operation as the force geared up to deal with the visit itself and expected protests.

During the state visit, which begins on today, protesters are again hoping to fly the Donald Trump blimp, which depicts the American leader as a baby.

When Trump visited Britain last year, he avoided London - where an estimated 250,000 people marched against him.

It was estimated that Trump's UK visit in 2018 cost the taxpayer approximately £18 million to ensure his safety.

We are anticipating a number of additional protests to take place across central London throughout the duration of the President’s visit.

Metropolitan Police
Met Police said: "Protesters will not be marching past Downing Street at any point.

"This is a multi-faceted security operation, and whilst the Met has a responsibility to ensure the right to peaceful protest, this needs to be balanced with the complex requirements of this policing plan.

BIRTH OF A KILL TEAM How Hawkeye was founded after a failed attempt on President Ronald Reagan's life

ON March 30, 1981, John Hinckley Jr. shot the Ronald Reagan and three others as they left a speaking engagement in Washington DC.

His motivation was to try and impress the actress Jodie Foster who he had become obsessed with after seeing her play a child prostitute in the movie Taxi Driver.

Reagan was hit in the chest with a single bullet that caused serious internal bleeding, broke his rib and punctured a lung.

Following the attempted assassination, a Counter Assault Team that came to be called "Hawkeye" was assigned to full-time presidential escort duty.

The Secret Service had started using the teams two years earlier in 1971 but only after the failed attempted on Reagan’s life was one permanently dedicated to protecting the president.

It is not believed that Hawkeye has ever actually had to respond to an armed attack since it was formed.

"We are anticipating a number of additional protests to take place across central London throughout the duration of the President’s visit."

Trump will visit Westminster Abbey and lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior.

On the second day, he is set to hold talks with Theresa May at Downing Street

The pair will attend a business breakfast with senior UK and US business leaders, before they hold their last joint press conference together.

Mrs May is expected to travel to Southsea Common in Portsmouth with Trump to attend the D-Day anniversary events.

Prince Charles will invite the President to Clarence House for tea, but the Duchess of Sussex will not join the rest of the royal family.

. . .
thats SS Counter Assault Team, you really think we can match that :D
Eradicate corruption and invest money in equipment and yes you can get that. Many Muslim countries have great SWAT units of Police. We can do that also.

.
what a waste of taxpayer money, if his death is written in his fate this security will not save him.

Why the Secret Service Hawkeye team is probably not with Trump in Britain

The Sun is probably wrong in reporting that an armed U.S. Secret Service Presidential Protective Division Counter-Assault Team is with President Trump in Britain.
Once code-named "Hawkeye," Secret Service CATs are responsible for diverting the attention of assailants so that the rest of the detail can cover and evacuate their protectee. The CAT's secondary purpose is to neutralize the assailants as efficiently as possible.
But here's the thing: While the CATs regularly deploy with the first family and the vice president during foreign travel, the British government is opposed to their presence on U.K. soil. That's because of the political sensitivity of heavily armed Americans being seen riding through British streets. The Secret Service has traditionally accepted this limitation.
The absence of a CAT is not, however, any great concern for Trump's security.
After all, the only reason the Secret Service is willing to keep CAT agents unarmed or embedded with the rest of the Secret Service detail during U.K. trips is the alternative that the British offer. The U.K. substitutes the CAT with military special forces from the British Army's 22 SAS regiment or the British Navy's SBS, or with members of London Metropolitan Police's Counter-Terrorism Specialist Firearms Office teams. The CTSFOs are deployed to protect at-high-risk dignitariessuch as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
My basic point is this: If the Sun is correct and armed U.S. CATs are deployed with Trump during this visit, that development represents a major shift in U.S.-U.K. protective arrangements. But I suspect the Sun is wrong.
