May Day: A Day Without the 99%
May 1st General Strike Shut Down the 1% and Fight Back
No Work – No School – No Housework – No Shopping

Occupy Wall Street is a leaderless resistance movement with people of many colors, genders and political persuasions. The one thing we all have in common is that We Are The 99% that will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1%. We are using the revolutionary Arab Spring tactic to achieve our ends and encourage the use of nonviolence to maximize the safety of all participants.

This #ows movement empowers real people to create real change from the bottom up. We want to see a general assembly in every backyard, on every street corner because we don't need Wall Street and we don't need politicians to build a better society.

The people who attend there "occupy" protests don't go to work, school, own a house, so it's just another day for them.

They are all angry that people who work, get paid for their hard work. They want money for doing nothing. Lazy socialists.

I thought it was more about Social Justice.
They are angry that Major banks can destroy the world economy and then they get bailed out while we have to suffer.

Nothing socialist about social Justice.

Some form of democratic socialism is practiced in all welfare states, including Australia. If there is perfect democracy, then there will be more taxes for the rich and more equitable distribution of wealth, so every citizen can be developed to fullest potential. Oligarchy and Neo-liberal capitalism is trashing the planet and plunging the world into endless wars and instability, because of the unfairness of the existing world system.

Mainly Occupy movement is about evolution of the "democratic system", the current system has failed the 99% and has been hijacked by the 1%. What form of economic system people choose is up to them and can be changed or adjusted any time in a democracy, if some economic system does not work well.

Correct. Our current government is a democratic socialist government. I am against socialism as a whole. We have seen what socialism has done to Europe. They are drowning in debt because for too long they have had a massive welfare system that is just unsustainable. Limited welfare is fine, but it must be sustainable.

so every citizen can be developed to fullest potential. Oligarchy and Neo-liberal capitalism is trashing the planet and plunging the world into endless wars and instability, because of the unfairness of the existing world system.

For 11 years in Australia, we had a right-wing Neo-Liberal government. During the period, we saw massive GDP growth, we saw the start of the mining boom, massive expansion of the middle class, wages for all citizens increased and per capita income increased massively.

Socialism is not the way. Socialism is the path to more tax, more debt, more poverty. Even the Chinese now realize socialism is a fairytale that only holds them back.

Mainly Occupy movement is about evolution of the "democratic system", the current system has failed the 99% and has been hijacked by the 1%. What form of economic system people choose is up to them and can be changed or adjusted any time in a democracy, if some economic system does not work well.

What's happening in America has nothing to do with democracy, it's to do with their tax system. The rate of tax was lowered for the rich.

That was the issue at the start, but now they are just angry that people work and get paid for the work they do, while they sit around unemployed by choice and that they don't get money just given to them for free.

Most of these people are looney looney far left wing extremists, communists and socialists.
