Islamabad: Pakistan has once again denied the Indian claims that a surgical strike was conducted by Indian forces on terror camps inside Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (Azad Kashmir). Speaking to media persons at Islamabad yesterday, a Pakistan government spokesperson has clarified that they met UN General Secretary to discuss the threat to Pakistan’s Number 1 Test ranking only.

For the first time since ICC introduced the test rankings, Pakistan reached the number 1 spot in August this year. That spot is already under threat from India who are set to regain the number 1 spot if they defeat New Zealand at Eden Gardens.

“Yes our permanent representative to UN, Maleeha Lodhi, met UN General Secretary Ban Ki Moon, and discussed the threat posed by India. However, it was not a response to any surgical strikes on our terror camps; it was only to discuss the threat posed to our number 1 test ranking. All our terror camps are safe and sound, and are running smoothly”, the spokesperson said.

“For the first time in history, we became number 1 in test cricket. However, our jealous neighbor couldn’t bear to see us at that spot and immediately started working on removing us from that place. Is this what good neighbors do? We keep losing to them in every World Cup and this is how they repay us? This is the dangerous behavior that we brought up during our meeting at the UN”, the spokesperson went on to add.

Furthermore, he said,”We approached UN instead of ICC because we know that ICC is controlled entirely by BCCI now. We have asked Mr. Ban Ki Moon to interfere and instruct India to lose this series against New Zealand. Only after that can we hope to have peaceful and friendly relations between the two neighbors.”

Meanwhile, UN has thanked India and Pakistan for thinking that UN can resolve anything. “In dono ke sivaay aaj kal humein poochta hi kaun hai”, said a senior official at UN.
