new glasses - is this normal?

Went to the glasses shop today because my old ones are already 4 years old and i wanted new ones.

They did check my eyes there with several tests and said they stayed stable at their old level.

What i wonder is, that my left eye is better than my right eye. Is this normal that its not the same?

Also they said when i get my new glasses that it will look weird the first few days because they are slightly different. They say my brain compensates this and when the new glasses are on my brain needs a few days to adapt to the new glasses.

I think thats super interesting but have no clue how it works.

Bad part is it will take 2 weeks until i get them and its quite expensive. 208 €. But they look cool

The good thing is, when I got my eyes tested for the first time, my right eye had a vision of -3.25... later I was told my eye sight has improved and I needed vision of -2.75 ... later I was told I had a vision of -2.25 and now it's around -2.50 in my last test... The left eye has always been -1.25 (initially -0.75 about 6 years ago)...

I was once told not to get the laser surgery done as my eyesight is not stable... strange but yeah

Your 208 Euro glasses will make you look nice... don't worry about it... just imagine how much it's rounded angle means in value of Euros and you will see Euros everywhere across your glasses

It is totally normal to have different power for each eye glass

PS: Laser surgery is safe, it just helps you gain back control of your eyes

plus laser surgery is safe.
my dad had it and it took 15 minutes most of which were "getting ready procedures" xD.
but the lenses are pretty expensive, if you buy good ones that is.

Dont go for surgery

One Eye surgeon himself told me that they recommend surgery ONLY when the
person has no other option with regard to his career and he is likely to be rejected

For example some professions such as pilots dont accept glasses

Secondly and more importantly eyes can not be operated on again and again

If you have some real problem later on
then this earlier laser surgery will aggravate your problems

Yes thats correct, its the same case with me too , left eye being stronger. It all depends on which eye brain utilizes often. Eyes are just like camera, brain is the one which builds the final image.

Lucky for you, vision most of the time degrades. Dont go for laser surgery , its a hit or miss case. laser surgery is not completely mature yet. More ever your vision is average case not extreme.

he was asking when they would begin when they just finished and were about to patch him up XD
after the op, you had to rest for 1 month, that means no cooking, cleaning, mental pressure, weight lifting, just relax, mind and body. so there wouldnt be any vein contraptions that'll hurt you afterwards.

After it, you gotta use eye drops to keep em clean and from hurting.

the only time it pains for him is when he takes too much stress. but i guess its cuz of old age.
personally if you ask me.
As a young and responsible person i'd stay away from Lasik until i was retired.

Because you have a "dominant" eye which acquires focus faster and sees further. It is normal to have some difference.
Just make sure your glasses do not differ more than 0.5 as then after long usage it may tend to increase
