I'm pretty sure that South-East Asian teams can be the giants of the football world. I have seen some fine football talent in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, I have never been to India so I'm thinking they can't be bad either. Problem is that the Football Federations of our countries are midgets and can't look after players after they have retired like the Circket Boards do, resultantly, these footballers would rather set up their own "Bhel Purri stand" than play football, a perfect example of talent wasted.

Agree with you. Indian players are pretty good. But none of these players can be picked by the European leagues as there is a rule that the country of origin should be ranked within 100.
Ironically the Indian football team at one point was pretty good. In 1954, AIFF became one of the founder members of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). At the peak of its success during the 1950s and 60s, the team was automatically advanced to play in the 1950 FIFA World Cup (all the other Asian teams withdrew), but they did not go to the tournament in Brazil due to the cost of travel, lack of practice time, team selection issues, their refusal to not play barefoot!!! and valuing Olympics over FIFA World cup. They won gold medals at two Asian Games, and held the record for the best performance by an Asian football team at the Olympics.

India's got 1.2 billion people,2nd most in the world,but why can't we get a good football team!?
COVENTRY is set to host an India-Pakistan UK football match.
The national teams of India and Pakistan are scheduled to play at the Ricoh Arena for the three-match tour between August 25 and September 11.
The tour will see the two teams play at three venues in Manchester, Coventry and London, although exact dates are yet to be confirmed.
Praful Patel, president of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) said: “Playing Pakistan is always special.
"It’s a positive sign that we will play a football series against Pakistan. I’m sure all sporting fans are eagerly looking forward to it.”
This is the first time India will play a series against Pakistan in a neutral venue. The tour is being organised by agency TouchSky Sports (TSS).

no team can do good without support of fans...lets say we do not have football culture in india...peaople will spend money to watch cricket match but they wont go for football match even if tickets are free.

It won't in our country. but it will in UK.They have a huge Indian and Pakistani population there. Bet both boards will earn more there from their respective home matches.
Bro our countries are heavily into 2 things. War and cricket!!
If we can start something and generate some interest it will help as we have huge populations and we will find talent.
In the UK we have a few players that could represent our nations such as Michael Chopra, Adnan Ahmed, Zesh Rehman, and Anwar Uddin to name a few
It was a practice match not even a frienldy thats why India wont get any points for the win.
ps : diff b/w friendly and practice match- in friendly maximum 5 changes can taken whereas in practice match any number of changes can be done
its not true that football does not have a good fan-base in India. football is very famous in some parts -goa, w.bengal, NE india. no one cares about cricket in NE.
FYI according to aiff website all 20000 tickets for todays india vs uae match have already been sold (that was yesterday).
