ISLAMABAD - Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Interim Committee Chairman Najam Sethi intensifies efforts to recapture the hot seat once again as he met Prime Minister Nawaz Shairf at his residence in Lahore on Sunday evening. Highly responsible sources on condition of anonymity have confirmed the meeting took place in this regard.
The sources confirmed that Sethi requested the Prime Minister to reinstate him as Interim Committee chairman only for a short while as this issue was a matter of prestige for him and his entire journalistic career was on the line. The sources said PM refused to give any assurances to Sethi and said he would take up the issue in the cabinet meeting set to be held in Capital today (Monday).
But sources further said, it is highly unlikely PM would at this stage even think about head on collision with the judiciary, as some of decisions had already backfired and he doesn't want to further aggravate the already explosive situation.
The sources further revealed that PCB chairmanship is more important than holding the office of CM and above all five-year TV rights of Pakistan Cricket team would be on offer in coming months, which values around Rs 170 million including some high-profile events like Asia Cup and World Cup T/20 in Bangladesh along with other important events are on offer. Sethi, like past, wanted to ensure easy sailing for his employers and wanted to work for paving the way for his channel to get the TV rights, the sources said.
The sources said the half-an hour meeting with PM failed to bring desired results for Sethi but he was hoping against hope to get a favourable response from the PM and soon be able to get the top slot back but it looked highly unlikely.

Prime Minister has time for Sethi but not for KPK Chief Minister. By the way, Sethi being a journalist has no merit to run PCB. But then what is merit in Pakistan.
