NAB to file multi-billion rupee references against Army Ex Generals and railway Officers
ISLAMABAD (News Desk) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is weighing options to file a multi-billion reference against three former army generals and retired top officials of Pakistan Railways (PR), the Dawn reported.

These former officials were, reportedly, involved in allotment of railway’s 141 acres land to Royal Palm Country Club (RPCC) in Lahore in 2001 by illegal means. The allegation is still under probe by NAB Rawalpindi officials -which have approached NAB Islamabad for formally filing a reference to this effect.

The report claimed that the reference is expected to carry the names of retired Lt Gen Javed Ashraf Qazi, Lt Gen (r) Saeeduz Zafar, Maj Gen (r) Hamid Hassan Butt and Brig (r) Akhtar Ali Baig. All these officials also served at top slots in Pakistan Railways.

Other officials involved in the alleged corruption are; ex-general manager Iqbal Samad Khan, former member finance Khurshed Ahmed Khan, deputy director marketing Waseem Aslam, former divisional superintendent Abdul Ghaffar, former director marketing Khalid Naqi and a person named Pervaiz Qureshi.

Following the National Logistic Cell (NLC) scandal, in which three army generals were punished for corruption by Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, this case could be second major corruption bid which involved retired military officials.

Every citizen has to be held accountable. Defense ministry's employees are no exception. Hope our politicians also face the music. Also that such cases meet their end and everyone gets justice.

Yes, all official correspondence denotes rank and retired status adhering to the stated format.

Thanks

Actually the rank does not retire , the officer does.

He carries the rank all thru his life & beyond hence its like ... Lt Col XYX, Retd

.
No Sir as per law rank never retire but only the officer
example
Brig. Naseem Hassan Retd is the official way to adress retired offiecers.
Indian army's official latter same rule we follow

That format is observed mostly when addressing the officer directly in correspondence which would then note:

1. Rank
2. Legal Name
3. Decorations in order of seniority
4. Retired Status

Eg: Col Jaffar Qamar Hayyan, S Bt, SI(M), Retd.

However, since that format requires a lot of writing space and might become superfluous, it is generally shortened to notation as:

Col (r). Jaffar Hayyan
