The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has allowed a Turkish ship mounted power plant Karkay to leave the country after recovery of Rs 1.65 billion.
According to a press release issued by NAB here on Wednesday, the Turkish firm which owned the power plant had earlier claimed damages amounting to $ 291 million from Pakistan and had applied for international arbitration. After negotiations, NAB managed to stop the Turkish firm from international arbitration and convinced the firm to pay damages to Pakistan amounting to $ 17.2 million which amounted to Rs 1.65 billion.
