To be fair, I don't think she had access to a tree branch or a rod at that time. What the lady did was very admirable.In Pakistan you do this.

Or this is better...put a BJP, or local Neta in the manhole(after all it meant for man to enter for service), many people call it main hole which is incorrect.
BTW this guy was canvassing in Karachi for manhole covers...
Road is waterlogged and place has been under incessant raining, so tree branch or a rod wont work. It has to be manned to prevent accidents.

Must say Mumbai gets many time more rains than Karachi and the storm water disposal system is better there, and the public transport system(the Mumbai local trains) is better than Karachi...on the revival in Khi. the KCR.
Karachi has a non existent public transport, the reason there are about 5 million bikes...more/less
And about 12-15,000 coaches(small buses).
Also I find BMC rich and spends on the city...
Roads are wider in Karachi and less potholed??
Mumbai is much greener, kind of tropical, Karachi is semi arid. Mangroves forest though in Karachi.
Rich and poor divide is more in Mumbai. Very filthy rich to very poor. Karachi has better housing and affordable for low income people. Like you can get an apartment for 30 lacs, or 50 lacs. In Mumbai the house/Chawal in Dharavi slum is worth 60 lacs INR.
Mumbai local, was reading about 90% of Mumbains uses local trains for travel...need the same in Khi.

Mumbai is fiefdom of Shivsena n BMC is the richest corporation. But Shivsena is corrupt to the core who also runs BMC for decades.
If i leave out the violence n criminal activities part, karachi is probably far better managed than Mumbai with limited resources.
In Mumbai, Shivsena sanp ki tehra kundi maar ke biatha he. Last BJP state govt had started doing what was necessary to address Mumbai's infra concerns. But even since Shivsena govt came, all developmental work has come to nut.
