LAHORE: The judicial tribunal, constituted to probe into the Model Town incident, sets 11:30am on Saturday as deadline for Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to submit his statement.
The chief minister was supposed to submit his statement in front of the single-judge tribunal, comprising Justice Ali Baqar Najafi on Friday.
During today's proceedings, the Punjab Advocate General Hanif Khatana told the tribunal that the chief minister was on a visit to Gujrat in the wake of an incident where arms of a 10-year-old boy had been severed by a landowner, and requested to allow him a day's extension.
The tribunal was formulated to investigate into the incident where Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) supporters broke into a clash with police. The incident had resulted in the death of 11 people, whereas more than 100 people were injured.
