Microsoft donates software

KARACHI: Microsoft Pakistan, under its Corporate Citizenship programme for empowering youth and serving society, gave a $295,000 software donation and latest technology access to AMAN Foundation, said a press statement on Friday.

AMAN Foundation is a local non-profit, working to bring systemic change in health and education for the underserved.

The Microsoft Corporate Citizenship programme is designed to support nonprofits by giving affordable access to technology required in helping local communities to be efficient, effective and innovative in serving society.

Microsoft grant will the Foundation to technologically update its nutrition, education and healthcare programmes including vocational training centres, Emergency Medical response and community health development.

Microsoft Pakistan Country Manager Amir Rao said, “Microsoft is proud to work with more than 50,000 nonprofits around the world every year to provide them easy and affordable access to technology. Empowering youth and building a healthy and active society is one of our major goals. We spent $1 million last year in Pakistan for supporting nonprofits, and this grant to AMAN is another step in building a strong, empowered and self-dependent society.”

Through the Microsoft Software Donation Programme, eligible organisations can enhance social services and build a solid platform for constructing a self-dependent society.

AMAN Foundation CEO Ahsan Jamil said, “We believe Microsoft’s corporate social responsibility programme is thoughtful and strategic as they are leveraging their technology to add disproportionate value to an organisation like ours.”
