Man Accidentally Shoots Self While Guarding 'Muslim-Free' Oktaha Gun Store

A man guarding a ‘Muslim-free’ gun shop in Oklahoma accidentally shot himself on Tuesday.
“The man dropped his gun and a bullet hit him in the arm,” Muskogee County Sheriff Charles Pearson confirmed. However, the sheriff did not identify the man and did not delve into details about how the accident occurred.
The owner of the Save Yourself Survival and Tactical Gear store had displayed a sign on his shop window refusing to train or sell guns to Muslims. After this, the store owner allegedly received death threats so he decided to have armed men outside his shop to guard it.

Speaking about the armed men guarding the store, Sheriff Pearson said, “I saw several of those gentlemen out there yesterday. The way they were holding their weapons, with the fingers on the triggers, you can tell a couple of these gentlemen have no idea about weapons safety.”
“Everybody is entitled to say what they feel, and the other people are entitled to tell them how they feel about their opinion. When that gets out of control, that’s where we come in. The only thing that I ask, if they are true patriots, that when the threats do come or the undesirables do show up, call us and allow us to handle it,” he continued.
The decision to put up the controversial sign had been taken after last month’s shooting rampage in Tennessee by a Muslim man that had left at least four Marines and a Navy sailor dead. A businessman in Florida had been the first to declare his gun shop a ‘Muslim-free zone’.
“I will not arm and train those who wish to do harm to my fellow patriots,” Andy Hallinan, the gun shop owner had said, in a video posted on his gun shop’s Facebook page.
Hallinan went on to add, “I have a moral and legal responsibility to ensure the safety of all patriots in my community, and so effective immediately, I’m declaring Florida Gun Supply as a Muslim-free zone.”

Responding promptly, the Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-FL) had filed a lawsuit against the gun shop owner.
The lawsuit demanded the court to prohibit the gun shop owner from discriminating against Muslims by making such policies, capable of segregating a people on the basis of religion, on his own. The complainants further argued that to generalise a whole community because of a one single person and his actions is uncalled for and unwarranted.
Hallinan also recently announced that he has teamed up with another Floridian, George Zimmerman, to raise funds for both of their legal bills by selling prints of Zimmerman’s painting of a Confederate flag, which includes the inscription, “The 2nd protects our 1st.”
In 2012, Zimmerman had shot and killed Trayvon Martin, but he was acquitted of the charges in 2013.
