Lufthansa has a special department which brings historic airplanes back into life and offers them for charter so people can see how great they are.

They have an old Junkers-52 in store, her name is D-AQUI

And they currently bring a Super Constellation back to Life:

But there seems to be a much greater project in the making. There are rumors, that Lufthansa might bring the TU-144LL back to life. This airplane is a special TU 144 which was upgraded in the 90th

The airplane is currently stored in Zhukovsky

Restoration is estimated to cost around 120 million € to bring her back in all glory. She would get her engines restaurated as well as a complete new interior and lufthansa colors.

Flights would start from Stralsund and then go north to Iceland. Because of the sonic boom she would be not allowed to go supersonic over land. Ticket prices would be very high. Estimations range from 8000 € to 15.000 €.

Nothing is clear at the moment, but a lot of rumors in the german aviation business. I for myself would book it. It would be a great experience. I always wanted do this, but since Concorde is retired, thats impossible. So this would be a great opportunity!
