Expecting from the the politicians that they would excoriate the religious fanatics like Taliban in the worst possible words is useless. The main reason might be that most them are afraid of being visited by a boy wearing a suicide jacket, and others are latent Islamists who hate the west and its values and seriously believe that the implementation of Sharia is the only solution of the plethora of problems Ummah is surrounded by.

Taliban are crazy. One wrong statement and Imran Khan might have to end up quitting politics, if he wants to live to see his kids grow.
He is trapped more or less, and the current exit from potential role in the negotiations, stresses a point, that Imran is a drama queen who is anti taliban but scared of their wrath.
I do not blame him. Taliban are taking 600,000 manned Pakistan Army head on. Imran Khan is just one person, who only just succeeded in politics. He is not going to throw water over everything he has worked so hard to cook.
