As a 3 year old kid , I was taught English , my 3rd cum 2nd , language in the following way :

A for APPLE and there was a big image of Apple . Next page .....
B for BALL and there was a big image of Ball . Next page .....
C for CAT and there was a big image of Cat . Next page ...
.......
......
....

How did you learn ?

Now to the main question , I want to learn Japanese so that I can play Games but don't know where to start . Which Kana should I learn Hiragana or Katakana ? How should I learn ? In my case I must start with the Alphabets but can't find a decent book which teaches it in simplicity like the example of English .

I have not watched Shin Chan except for few minutes while changing channels or watching adds of it .

I too liked Swat Kats, Justice League, Tom and Jerry, Slivester and Tweety, Sabrina, Archie's weird mysteries, Freddy flintstone, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Alladin and offcourse The Powerpuff Girls. I was very fond of powerpuff girls opening theme - Mithas masala aur accha sab kuch dala.
Those were some golden days of our childhood. Nowadays they dont have such cartoons.

In Anime I only watched Bayblade's starting series(the one in which Tyson won the tournament) and the Pokemon.

I was never able to watch the complete season of any Pokemon series because CN for some reasons repeated the whole series from the start whenever things got interesting midway in the storyline. Same goes for the Dragon Ball Z, I was very fond of it too but was never able to watch the complete series.
