Khan's in Pakistan

My mother always told me that the people with Khan as their surnames are actually Ismailis, descendants of Hasan i Sabah? Does anyone know if that's true?

Khan is a surname and represents a tribe/culture/race whatever interpretation you are willing to accept.

actually the title of Aga Khan was given to the Aga Khan 1 by the king of Iran but the name Khan was even older.

as far as i know about khans is that, they are actually the lost tribe of the jews and they got lost in the Mountains of Afghanistan & Pakistan (the frontier KPK and Kashmir side of Pakistan) and got lost on their way back from supposedly China as they went to preach there in a form of group (convoy)........ and as u will see in link i posted below the groups of jews which were lost.
Khans are actually descendants of Prophet Yusuf (A.S) [referred in tribe names e.g Yusuf zai (sons of yusuf)]

About those lost tribes of Israel. Not only the Khans, but also Ethiopians, Indians and other claim to be that tribe. I think none of them is true.
