NEW DELHI: Kalayan Singh, former chief minister of Uttar Pradesh as a BJP member, has accepted the moral responsibility for the demolition of the Babri Mosque by Hindus in 1992, saying he had resigned at the time.
Singh recently resigned from the BJP and is now associated with the Samajwadi Party. In a statement on Wednesday, he said: I want to make it clear that I had taken moral responsibility for the demolition of Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992 and had resigned from the post of chief ministership. He said he believed that everyone has a right to be proud of his faith. app
