ISLAMABAD - JAVAID-UR-RAHMAN - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) is making all out efforts to convince major opposition party PML-N to join hands in its protests and walkouts from both the houses on the matter of governor’s rule in Balochistan with an aim to build pressure on PPP government to restore provincial assembly in the province.

“Awami National Party (ANP) and Balochistan National Party (Awami) have already ensured stand with us over the mater of governor rule and now we have almost convinced PML-N to join hand with them on this matter,” JUI-F central leader Ghafor Haideri told TheNation.

The JUI-F after gaining the support of Awami National Party (ANP) and BNP (Awami) have asked PML-N to support them in their protest so that pressure should be pressure should be further mounted on government to take back their decision, JUI-F leader maintained. “We have asked PML-N to support them as such undemocratic decision could be imposed in any province. If you feel this was not a democratic decision than stand with us,” Maulana said, sharing their recent conservation with PML-N stalwarts.

The second largest opposition party in National Assembly JUI-F alone started protest over imposition of governor’s rule and even faced criticism from treasury benches (ANP) for raising voice on this issue. “Why other national parties of Balochistan are not staging protest on this matter. Only JUI-F has been raising this issue,” ANP legislator had remarked on the floor of national assembly over continuous walkouts of JUI-F.

Haideri added that they would continue their protest in the upcoming national assembly session (50th session) of the national assembly with zeal and zest.

It is relevant to mention here that the PPP government yielded to the protests that had enveloped the entire country in the mid of January announced in front of a gathering of representatives of Hazara community to impose governor rule in Balochistan.

This announced was welcomed by thousands of Hazara Shia community who had been staging a sit-in freezing cold for last three days along with bodies of dozens of people killed in bombing.

But, (JUI-F) strongly opposes the decision of government with an argument that imposition of governor rule should not be the final solution as law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Karachi is also not satisfactory. JUI-F in protest has made double hat trick of walkout from the proceeding of both the houses in last session.
