LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: Quaid Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has stated that both Pakistan People's Party and PML-N want the reinstatement of deposed judges but there are differences over the modalities.

Talking to Senior Vice President of Awami National Party Azam Hoti and former Governor Punjab Ghulam Mustafa Khar, Nawaz said he would not back out from his stance that the deposed judges should be reinstated to November 2 position through an executive order.

"Efforts are underway to remove the differences over the modalities of restoration of judiciary," he said.

Nawaz said no minus-one formula would be accepted, adding that there would be rule of law in the country after the restoration of pre-Nov 2 judiciary.

Commenting on the resignation of Pervez Musharraf he said it became possible due to the mutual consultations of the PPP and PML-N; adding the alliance between the two mainstream parties of the country would remain intact.

He opined that if both parties worked with sincerity for the betterment of the country they could get the country out of current crises of unemployment, poverty and other problems.

Meanwhile, in an interview with the Voice of America Nawaz said some one would have to take initial step to make Musharraf accountable for his violation of constitution.

He said he had no personal enmity with Musharraf but he should be held accountable for his crimes. He further told that they had made strong commitment with Zardari that judges would be restored the next day of Musharraf's resignation.

He said PML-N had told PPP leadership that if judges were not reinstated it would be a huge disappointment for the people. He said Maulana Fazalur Rehman and Asfandyar Wali had asked for 72 hours' time for judge's reinstatement.

Meanwhile, talking to a TV channel Pakistan Muslim League-N was committed to restoring the judges as soon as possible as per Bhurban Accord, PML-N Secretary Information Ahsan Iqbal said Wednesday.

The coalition leadership is sincere in resolving the issues through talks. The issue of judges would also be resolved amicably, he said. Responding to a question he said, JUI-F, ANP and FATA members were taken into confidence on August 7, 2008, before announcing that judges would be restored immediately after the ouster of Pervez Musharraf.

PML-N spokesman Siddiqul Farooq Wednesday said that his party has a crystal clear stance with respect to the issue of deposed judges which cannot be changed. In a telephonic interview to a private television channel, the PMLN Spokesman said that it not possible for the party to deter from its principle position.

He said that the resignation of former president has shown some good indications as the business at Karachi Stock Exchange got a momentum and the rupee was stabilized against the dollar.

The confidence among the common people and the business community was restored he said adding the immediate restoration of deposed judges would improve the situation further. He said that some timely steps by the political leadership at this important moment would help bring political and economic stability in country.
