ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here today and discussed various issues of national security and politics, SAMAA reported.
The delegation comprised JI’s Deputy Chief Professor Khurshid Ahmed and Secretary General Liaqat Baloch.
According to sources, the JI leaders and the prime minister exchanged views over government’s negotiation offer to Taliban militants.
On Wednesday, the PM in his address to the National Assembly offered talks to Taliban and constituted a four-member committee for dialogues with them. The committee will comprise Irfan Siddiqui‚ Rahimullah Yusufzai‚ Rustam Shah Mehmand and Major (retired) Amir. - SAMAA
