Japan may 'acknowledge' China's claim to islets to calm tension

It means they are giving up on their original position that the island is indisputably Japanese. Now they acknowledge they don't have total control over the islands anymore. This means they do not legally administer it, which means it is not covered by US defense treaty. The Japanese have lost big time. China has gained victory by maneuver and encirclement just like Sun Tze Art of War!

Get off the weed that you have been smoking ;)

Japan has kept in mind the 1972 Japan-China joint communique, in which China said Taiwan is an inalienable part of its territory. Japan promised then that it "fully understands and respects" the Chinese stance, a move that allowed Japan not to express clearly its own position on the sovereign status of Taiwan.

In the case of the Senkaku Islands, Tokyo would only "acknowledge" Chinese claims to the islets given that if Japan makes clear that it "fully understands and respects" them, it might be construed by China as acknowledging the existence of a territorial dispute between the two countries.

it must be uber IQ which help chinese find victories in situations there are none. Soon USN will bow down to mighty chinese carrier and will gift hawai to china. ;)

This is a diplomatic Circus played by Japan backed by US. Their aim is to reduce the tensions because of China's bullying nature.

LOL Chinese Casino entered the service even with out proper fighterjets and weapons and Japan is pissing in its pants Chinese media

Huh? India is a much lower tech power than China. Please clarify what you meant, I didn't get it.

China is a superior army in terms of numbers. As for actual equipment, to be honest I would trust Indian equipment and technology any day. These are all combat proven platforms, predominantly from Israel, France, US and Russia. So even though China has good tech, I wouldnt rate it high unless it sees combat, which I dont think will happen in the near future.

A diplomatic move to reduce tension. But if the Chinese actually do something like making a move on the Japanese instead of bullying, they will ultimately feel the US wrath. No-one . . . . and I mean "No-one" can survive a full-scale war with uncle Sam; atleast not yet. I hope the Chinese are intelligent enough to know that.

The Korean war and the Vietnam war were both full-scale wars. North Korea and Vietnam not only survived, one of them is still pointing the gun at your uncle sam.

Japan didnt surrender the island. The thread title is misleading. Then again, it's Chinese interpretation. As faulty as those products they manufacture :D

Scatland/Pitland/Shameful India will recognize Chinese and Pakistanese claim on Cachemire etc

India will also recognize China's claim on Uranus too

and Japanese will aplogize and compensate for mass murdering, torturing and raping of children and women during their invasion of Manchuria. Japan to recognize also Russian claims on Kurils and Korean claims on Dokdo Islands.

Ok!

While the world will recognize Indian unclaim as number 1 defeacaters,
number 1 drug dealing, number 1 money laundering, number 1 on corruption etc.

World will also recognize Indians are number 1 humiliators of CCP zombies.
