I know someone (in another country) who was organizing an international trade show for companies to market their products globally. They contacted people from several countries in Asia and got a decent response from most countries, both private and public sector.
The only exception? you guessed it: Pakistan. The Pakistan High Commission couldn't be bothered, the companies wanted the government to subsidize their trip, and the government agencies won't lift a finger unless approprite bribes are paid to various officials.
Here we have ex-pat Pakistanis wanting to help the country and promote trade, yet the country is so rife with corruption and ineptitude that it is utterly unhelpful to these people.
Truly sad!
