Israel is not only becoming a nuisance for the world at large but also creating intractable problems for her chief guardian angel United States: the latest being an indirect diplomatic row between Turkey and the United States. United States has been traditionally overlooking all the mischiefs of Israel like a father does to a spoilt child. However, of late, these have assumed such reckless and monstrous proportions as to land America into difficult situations as far as her relations with the rest of the world are concerned.
Israel is a millstone in the neck of United States. It is like a parasite that is sucking the economic blood of America. The Sooner the American nation realizes this stark reality; the better it would be for them and for the whole world. In the post world war two eras, Americas main foreign policy plank has been to protect Israel, condone, and overlook its gross misconduct and wayward behavior as an uncouth bully and as an irresponsible state. If America believes in morality, sanctity of international law, equality and justice then it should understand that its protégé Israel is in the forefront of infringing all these sublime norms.
Is it only the Israels security and existence that has become the bounden responsibility of the America and for that, it has antagonized the entire Islamic bloc? United States has been willfully indifferent to tame Israel despite knowing it well that it has been an aggressor and usurper of Arab lands. America is also quite mindful that the establishment of a Palestinian state is an obligation of the international community and of the United Nations as pledged in the historic resolution 181.
It is also in the knowledge of the rest of the world and particularly America that the Palestinian right of statehood has been calously and stubbornly denied and resisted by Israel. The world is also aware that Israel has been using ruthless tactics and its powerful army to kill and annihilate the Palestinian population most of which is now Diaspora or ******* in besieged and cordoned areas.
Now all these sordid facts are self-evident. However, with the propensity for selective morality and a manifest bias against the Muslims in general and Palestinian in particular, America has been blindly and obdurately supporting Israel in every conceivable manner. The peace in the Middle East has always remained on tenterhooks due to the banditry of Israel and her refusal to accept and concede to the right of Palestinian for a promised independent state.
American has been at war with the Muslims around the world for no other reason except to save Israel and to patronize it by hook and crook irrespective of the glaring fact that this hostility and confrontation has been initiated and carried forward by Israel and the United States. Despite Americas unconditional and uncalled for support for Israel, most of the Muslim countries are still friends of America. No Muslim country has ever taken a lead in any hostile act against America.
On the contrary, the entire Islamic world was in the forefront against the Soviet army in Afghanistan where Muslim warriors fought a decade long epic war at a huge loss of life. It was the Muslim guerillas and Mujahedeen who defeated the Soviet army and drove it out of that coutry. In comparisons, what Israel has done for American?
Even in case of seizure of Flotilla and brutal murder of peace volunteers at ships, America has shirked from taking a principled stand, which the least was to condemn this act of blatant barbarism. The official American statement was couched in mild words, which was an implied support for Israels ruthless military operation in the international waters. How can America preach and plod others to uphold established principles governing inter-state relations, when she herself is violating these for the sake of a rogue client state.
Due to its blind and immodest support for Israel, the United States image has enormously suffered. There is a widespread revulsion in many countries for Americas mindless wars it has been waging after the WWII. Now with wise, evenhanded, and farsighted policies, America could keep her godfather role with Israel and at the same time befriend the Islamic world. That can be done only if America adopts the role of a neutral referee and an impartial arbitrator between the aggressed and the aggressor.
But more than the image of America for sidetracking the right and just stands in disputes between the states, American economy is fast plummeting due to its involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Without any hope for peace or victory for America, a staggering amount of three trillion dollars has been wasted away. The Iraq war was not to punish Saddam Hussain, because he was a coward and a pliant friend of America. It was to remove and weaken a potential enemy of Israel in that region.
It has been difficult for America to press or at least persuade Israel to come to terms with her neighbors, accept the creation of Palestinian state, and vacate the Arab territories it has been forcibly occupying following various wars engineered by her. At the end of day and in the longer term, if Israel persists in her audacity of denying the rights of Palestinians as an independent nation, there might be a bloody war. If Israel is under the impression that it would wipe off all the Palestinians from the land of Palestine, it is indeed is a self-delusion that it should get rid off as fast as possible. The world has drastically changed since the war of 1967. Even many western countries, besides, Australia and New Zealand that were sympathetic towards Israel, seem to be frustrated about Israels questionable conduct.

The poverty graph is slowing moving up. The wars have become an irritating part of American psyche. The space exploration, the vital scientific research, and advancement of technology have come to a standstill or drastically slowed down in America. Other countries are overtaking America is these fields because they are not fighting any wars. Instead, they are spending their money on socio-economic sectors and in scientific research and exploration.
America is losing its super power status. The dollar is open to the vagaries of international repercussions and a stiff competition from other currencies. With the resolution of the Palestinian dispute by prevailing over Israel and taking a rather rational stand in the Middle East disputes, America can avert the terror nightmare for the future. By recalling her armies from Iraq and Afghanistan, it can stem huge financial loss it is incurring for so many years now. Logically this is no prudent way to fight terrorists. How long can you fight in this fashion by merely creating well-cordoned military garrisons in a small areas of the capitals of Iraq and Afghanistan? The rest of the land is always at the disposal of the militants. Even if NATO finally prevails, it would be a Pyrrhic victory.
