ISLAMABAD, Jun 8 (APP): Federal Minister for Interior, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Saturday said that Islamabad Police would be made a ‘Role Model’ by inducting honest and committed officials in it. Taking to mediapersons at the ministry, he said Inspector General of Islamabad Police and other officials of the concerned departments would be appointed on merit. Their only criteria of appointment would be honesty and integrity. “We will try our level best to resolve the problems of the Islamabad Police on priority and provide them conducive working environment,” he said while responding to a question. To another question the minister said that no employee would be sacked but the officers who are honest and committed in their work would be promoted on priority.

Chaudhry Nisar said that the ministry would arrange a competition among the police stations of the capital - the visitors would be asked to note down their experience of the visit of police station whether they had faced any problem or otherwise.
For the purpose, a complaint book would be placed at every police station in which every visitor will write his comments regarding police dealing with him.
“An impartial officer belonging to other department would be deputed to note these complaints. The Police Station against whom minimum complaints are received would be award first, second and third prizes,” he added.
The minister said that justice would be done to all without caring their party affiliation. “There will be no PML-N, PPP and other political parties my concern will be to ensure across the board implementation of the law.”
Chaudhry Nisar said that he would not use official vehicles, helicopter and aeroplane of the ministry for personal use.
He said that transparency would be ensured at all the attached departments of the ministry including Federal Investigation Agency, passports and immigration department and others.
The minister sought media’s cooperation and urged it to pin point mistakes, adding that he will avoid self exposure and soon appoint a senior officer as a spokesman with the mandate to provide information to media.
Law and order was a provincial matter, he said and added, the federal government was only responsible for providing intelligence, surveillance related assistance to the provinces.
Chaudhry Nisar said such support would be provided to provinces across-the-board, where and when required. The whole system of the ministry would be revamped, he added.
He said Islamabad would be brought under full surveillance network, adding that the task regarding law and order was challenging but the government was determined to address the situation effectively.
The minister said that Islamabad would be made a model city. He said emphasis would be laid on improvement in areas including cleanliness, crime and traffic.

Islamabad is a Capital Territory. Federal government has no right over cities of other provinces due to 18th, 19th and 20th ammendments. Their job is to provide money and intelligence only. Moreover PML-N specifically has no power in KPK and Sind. If you notice Nisar's words carefully, he didn't mention Punjab. Despite his party in power, he is letting Shahbaz Sharif work on his own model in Punjab. This is called democracy
