Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has inaugurated the country's largest textile factory in the northwestern city of Ardebil.
On Tuesday, Ahmadinejad, who had a short stopover in Ardebil on his way to Azerbaijan's capital Baku, underlined the importance of creating new job opportunities at the inaugural ceremony.
The large industrial unit that is built on a 200,000 sq.m. parcel of land will create jobs for around 5,000 people.
One of the factory's unique characteristics is its full production cycle, which starts with fibers as raw material and produces various types of garment in the final stage.
The factory, which is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, is capable of exporting 70 percent of its products.
