Otokar has received an order valued at €106.1 million for the COBRA II tactical wheeled armoured vehicles, which will be used for various tasks by the internal security forces. The order, which was announced on June 22, covers vehicles and a variety of systems, as well as maintenance and support services. Vehicle deliveries are expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2017. The same announcement also confirmed that an amphibious version of COBRA II is being developed specifically for export markets, and that this vehicle has recently been subject to hot climate tests and amphibious trials in one of the Gulf countries. During these tests, Cobra II covered thousands of miles on land and successfully passed open water swimming tests.
