Could somebody please give me accurate figures of Pak Army strength in East Pakistan. From the start to the end. Total combat trooop numbers, units, regiments etc

This should include estimate of teeth and tail. Please do NOT include any manpower or units from Bangal itself. Only manpower sourced from the West.

Also give air assets of PAF. If you have source or links that would be even better.

Thank you very much.

Absolutely shocking shocking. So the actuall Pak Army combat troops is not even 50,000. That is just about two divisions. Amazing.

Does anybody have the breakdown of the actual units. The Paramilitary were who?

2 divs, one div was raised during onset of war (including, retired, rejected and volunteer),plus some critical civilians added so as to guard them from trial/lynching etc....
against 6 divs of india plus 175,000++ muktis.....but actually its local support which is the reason for defeat... the surrounded factor, supply line blockade, etc are secondary reasons...

the main reason for Pakistan's defeat was the Bengali Muktibahini. Indian Army just delivered Coup D grace

. . .
so what is EXACT number of Army ''soldiers'' captured in 1971?

.
As for PAF, it had a single squadron of 16 obsolete F-86s together with 3 T-33 trainers and one Aloutte-3 Helicopter stationed in Dacca. Compared to this, the IAF had TEN squadrons in the Eastern sector, three of them equipped with MiG-21s with the rest made up of SU-7s, Gnats and Hunters. In three days of fury, before being grounded due to runway damage, No.14 squadron shot down 11 Indian aircraft for the loss of five F-86s.

Welcome back.
If this is addressed to me thank you. I am impressed that you still can recall me as I have been absent for better part over two years.

To everybody else please accept my appreciation for giving the above information.
