Indian peaceniks cross over to Pakistan to enhance people to people relations

AMRITSAR: First time after Mumbai terror attack, prominent Indian citizens including journalists, spiritual leader, social activist and film producer crossed over to Pakistan through the land transit route of Attari Check Post with peace message and to enhance people to people relations.
Leader of the 14 member's delegation, columnist Kuldip Nayyar before crossing over the Pakistan appreciated the statement of American President Barack Obama as Taliban people were described root cause of terrorism in Pakistan.
Kuldip Nayyar said that Pakistan Government should not delay to curb over the nefarious activities of Taliban to eradicate terrorism from the soil of Pakistan.
He said that during their stay in Pakistan, different seminars would be organized by the Pakistan based Human rights activists, educationists, socialists and philanthropists at the different provinces including Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad in Pakistan to disseminate the message of peace and healthy relationship between the masses and Governments of both the neighboring nations.
Nayyar said that they would urge the masses of Pakistan to mount pressure on their Government that Pakistan's territory should not be allowed for nefarious activities.
Expressing deep concern over the recent development of Swat Area of Pakistan, Nayyar said that no doubt, it was the internal matter of Pakistan but not good for the larger interest of the society as Swat area became more sensitive.
Swami Agnivesh said that during their visit in Pakistan the emphasis would be laid on peaceful relations between India and Pakistan. He described the recent brutal killing of famous Pakistani TV Channel GEO Journalist Mustafa cowardice act.
Renowned Bollywood producer and director Mahesh Bhatt said that after the Mumbai terror attack, film Industry suffered immensely, thereby artists and actors from both sides freezed their movements for each others country. He said that after the 26/11 act bitterness appeared on both sides. Both the nations again reached on, where they had started the peace process. He said that Indian delegation would also meet the former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif besides other politicians. Delegation would return to India on February 26, he added.
