Chetak Helicopter hard-landing at INS Rajali

at about 0904 hrs this morning, an Indian Navy’s Chetak helicopter (frame number 442) while undertaking a routine training sortie of ‘Dry Winching’ carried out hard-landing at INS Rajali, Arakkonam.

The station rescue team reached the site within minutes of the incident. The crew is safe and no other casualty has been reported.

The incident is being investigated to ascertain the cause of the hard landing.

A helicopter force-landed west of Tuting in Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday with all 16 people on board safe, sources in the Indian Air Force said.

The helicopter was on a routine mission from Tuting when it force-landed this afternoon, they said.

All 16 people on board are safe, the sources added.
