The Chief of Naval Staff Admiral DK Joshi visited Mauritius last week (between 02 to 07 Feb). During the visit he handed over an Inshore Survey Vessel (ISV) Pathfinder to the Minister of Housing and Land, Mauritius. The handing over ceremony was attended by the Indian High Commissioner and the Commissioner of Mauritius Police. Whilst handing over the ISV, the Chief of Navy Staff stressed upon the strong maritime ties between the two nations.
The gifting of ISV is in consonance with the ongoing Hydrographic Co-operation between the two countries and is yet another step in this direction. The cooperation extends to support for the Mauritian National Coast Guard and involves several facets of capacity building and capability enhancement.
